Background: Rupture uterus is an obstetric life-threatening complication with poor maternal and fetal outcome. The most common risk factor previous uterine surgeries. Incidence 0.3/1000 to 7/1000 deliveries in developing countries like India. According WHO, incidence 5.35 per 10000 live births. It accounts for 5-10% of deaths. Uterine rupture associated significant bleeding, distress demise, expulsion or protrusion fetus, placenta both into the abdominal cavity need laparotomy prompt delivery baby, rent repair, hysterectomy. objective this study was find out Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College Hospital, Barpeta evaluate its causes.Methods: This hospital based descriptive conducted over a period 1 year from January 2021 December 2021, department obstetrics gynaecology, College, Barpeta, Assam. All cases uterus, who were referred periphery admitted our developed during stay, included study. Results: one catastrophic complications obstetrics. centre 0.43%. Previous caesarean section accounted 38.46% rupture, that too lower segment (94.73%). Subtotal/total hysterectomy done 30.76% 69.23% repaired. Perinatal mortality 92.30%, 7.69% birth, as these rightly diagnosed, timely management done.Conclusions: commonly occurred scarred uterus. Identification high-risk pregnancy, judicious section, proper labour monitoring use partograph, early diagnosis are essential reducing occurrences.
